This policy explains what personal data Socketic (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit socketic.com or use our apps and tools, and what we do with it.
1. Who we are
Socketic is an independent software studio. For privacy questions, email support@socketic.com.
2. Data we collect
On this website
- Contact form: your name, email address and message, which you choose to send us.
- Basic, aggregate visit statistics from privacy-friendly analytics (see section 4). These do not use cookies or build profiles of individual visitors.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
Through our apps and tools
- Account and installation details provided by the platform you install from (for example, your Wix site and account identifiers).
- Settings you configure in the app (for example, the phone number or chat links you add to a chat button).
- For chat widgets: usage events such as widget views, clicks and chats started, with device type, approximate country and traffic source, so site owners can see analytics and use targeting rules.
- For chat and AI products: the messages exchanged between a site’s visitors and that site’s owner or chatbot, where that product is live.
When our apps are used by a business on its own website, that business is generally the controller of its visitors’ data and we act as its processor.
3. How we use data
- To provide, maintain and support our apps and website.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the website is used and improve it.
- To keep our services secure and prevent abuse and spam.
We do not sell personal data.
4. Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. We store one item in your browser’s local storage to remember your light or dark theme choice. We use {{ANALYTICS_PROVIDER}} (for example Plausible), a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. Our apps may use cookies or local storage strictly as needed to function; this is described in each app where relevant.
5. Third-party processors
We rely on trusted providers to run our services. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Wix: the platform our Wix apps run on, which handles installation, authentication and billing.
- Zoho: {{ZOHO_USAGE}} (for example, business email or customer support).
- Website hosting / CDN: {{HOSTING_PROVIDER}} (Vercel or Cloudflare).
- Contact form provider: {{FORM_PROVIDER}} receives the contents of messages sent through the form.
- Analytics: {{ANALYTICS_PROVIDER}}.
- AI providers: where a product uses AI, the relevant text is sent to an AI provider (currently OpenAI) to generate a response. We will state which products do this on their listings.
- Spam protection: if enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that form submissions come from a person.
Some providers are located outside Pakistan, so data may be processed in other countries.
6. How long we keep data
- Contact messages: kept as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted, normally within {{CONTACT_RETENTION}}.
- App data: kept while the app is installed and for a short period afterwards to allow reinstallation, then deleted or anonymised, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. {{APP_RETENTION}}
- Analytics: aggregate statistics only.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email support@socketic.com. If you are a visitor to a website that uses one of our apps, please contact that website’s owner first; we will help them respond.
8. Security
We use HTTPS, limit access to data and choose reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date above shows the latest version.
